posterity sake

I shouldn't post this picture!
But, someday Alice will be telling her kids to wear their helmets and they won't want to. Then Alice will get out this picture and tell them about the time she was so excited to ride down her families newly paved driveway she didn't bother putting on a  helmet, got going too fast  and crashed at the bottom. Safety first! She'll declare to my grand-kids and Alice may even go on to tell them how embarrassing it was to have her face so red and her upper lip so swollen. For the next week when ever we were in public a stranger would stop to say "looks like you crashed on your bike"

P.S. this unfortunate event took place at the beginning of the summer. Luckily she won't have to start school looking this way.
